The Cantonese people don't believe in putting a lot of spices in their food, according to Maureen Ow aka Miss Tam Chiak. She cooks up a soup that doesn't need any flavouring, because the combination of ingredients is just divine and speaks for itself.

, washed, dried, peeled and cut into 1 centimetre slices

Pork Ribs
, cut into bite sizes

Carrot
, large, peeled and cut into match stick sized pieces

Dried Scallops
, soaked

Red Dates
, dried, pitted

Handful of
Raw Peanuts

Directions

In a pot, add water, lotus roots and the rest of the ingredients except salt.
Simmer for 40 minutes, or until the pork is tender. For best results, keep warm in thermal pot until ready to serve. Season with salt.
